I’m missing work Thursday and Friday. Fortunately, a job for those two days got cancelled, so I don’t even have to notify the office that I can’t come to work. I can sit (un)comfortably at home and not get docked personal time.
It’s head, throat, and chest, a whole lotta phlegm and snot. I feel so bad that I can’t sleep, so I took a generic Zyrtec to hopefully knock myself out and get some rest.
Meanwhile, some comfort activities:
- a Sunbutter (like peanut butter but is sunflower-seed based) and jelly sammitch.
- a couple of episodes of the 1970’s TV series The Rockford Files. The show was often corny, but I always find James Garner to be charming.
- a tablet balanced on my stomach, so I don’t even have to get off the sofa to read or make posts, do e-mail, etc.
Meanwhile back to the sandwich.
Hope you’re feeling better after the weekend. Your cold/flu doesn’t sound like much fun. I’m still going through pain of my own so I understand and can sympathize with fellow-sufferers. If I might make a small suggestion: chicken soup AND plenty of fluids (tea, water, tea, water… you get the picture). 🙂
I hear ya, James. Thank you.
Get well soon!
And enjoy the time with your marmelade an a cup of tea.
James Garner. The PI series long, long ago 😉 I remember, years before Magnum.
Good one on mentioning Magnum.
I was watching a Rockford Files the other day and Tom Selleck co-starred. I didn’t get into Magnum, P.I. so much. I stuck with Rockford, Mannix, Hawaii 5-0, The F.B.I., and some others.
The programs come across as so curious now. Men wore shorty-shorts, almost like hot pants, and women and minorities were sometimes portrayed, well, not so positively. American sedans were often ugly as hell. I don’t remember the cars looking so bad back then, but now I gasp and say, “OMG”. I would, however, love to have one to work on now,
I especially enjoy anything that took place in 1960’s or 70’s Los Angeles. I like to look up the places that appear in the shows to see if I can find them on Google Streets and Google Earth. As a teenager, I always thought I would be pretty happy in Los Angeles. I still enjoy going there when I can. Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada, are other faves.
